WHY: This tournament is a fund-raising event for
three outstanding organizations reaching
children thru mentoring and programs. All three groups have the
mission of helping
Kids reach their potential and fulfill their dreams. Vision Youth
DC (a division of World
Vision) creates the opportunity for Youth Outreach Workers to contact
and mentor teens
severely at-risk with a focus on improving education and reducing
crime, violence, gang
activity, sexual promiscuity, substance abuse and health issues
in target neighborhoods
in DC. Rock CDC (River of Community Kindness Community Development
Corporation) provides life-skill training, apprenticeships, mentoring,
tutoring and fine arts
training for kids and families. The Maryland Titans Pop Warner Cheer
/ Football
Program has a vision to develop athletic and academic achievement
through and
emphasis of good sportsmanship, mentorship and discipline with life-skill
coaches. All
three groups have the mission of helping kids reach their potential
and fulfill their
dreams. These collective efforts are why it is called Par 4 Kids
Invitational Golf Tournament.
