WHY: As America celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the 1954 Supreme Court Decision in Brown vs. Board of Education and the 40th Anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, ALC 2004 will lead citizens to recommit to the promise of these two great acts of civil litigation. The array of Braintrusts and Issue Forums is extensive, many focused on Voter Mobilization and covering a number of topics on economic development, wealth-building, health, education and criminal justice. This is a forum that allows everyday citizens to examine these issues and communicate face-to-face with Members of Congress, well-known political and business leaders and people from the entertainment and sports industry, all during an extraordinary point in the history of America. The sessions planned for this ALC speak to the urgency of the task at hand. This premiere policy gathering attracts upwards of twenty thousand people.
