WHY: As America celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the 1954 Supreme Court Decision in Brown vs. Board of Education and the 40th Anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, ALC 2004 will lead citizens to recommit to the promise of these two great

acts of civil litigation. The array of Issue Forums and Braintrusts is extensive, covering a number of topics such as, economic development, wealth-building,

health, education and criminal justice. This is a forum that allows everyday citizens to examine these issues and communicate face-to-face with Members of Congress, well-known political and business leaders, academicians, and people from the entertainment and sports industry, all during an extraordinary point in the history of America. The sessions planned for this ALC speak to the urgency of the task at hand. This premier policy gathering attracts upwards of twenty-thousand people. Through ALC, CBCF is able to strategically reach the masses and serve as an information broker, a developer of strategic partnerships,

a leadership and policy education provider, and a mobilizer of the public on legislative issues.
