Katrina Relief Effort to Heart to Hart Tennis
Tournament thru "Tie Together for Action" Shoelace Campaign
WHO: Zina Garrison (Tennis Great) will be honored
with an unveiling of a permanent exhibit of her tennis career.
Challenge Match: DC Mayor Anthony Williams vs. Rev. Willie Wilson
of Union Temple Baptist Church will play a featured challenge tennis
match. Venus Williams and Zina Garrison alliance: "Tie Together
for Action", a branded shoe laces campaign to raise funds for
Katrina Relief, will be worn by all youth participating in the Heart
to Hart Tournament. Coach John Lucas, Olympic / Celebrity renowned
tennis coach will teach a tennis clinic at the Southeast Tennis
and Learning Center during the tournament. Cora Masters Barry (Former

Committee and the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center)
WHAT: The 8th Annual Heart to Hart Tennis Experience
is an eight year tradition of teaming junior players with adults
in doubles tennis. The event is given by Recreation Wish List Committee
of Washington, DC to support the programs of the Southeast Tennis
& Learning Center.

WHY: The Recreation Wish List Committee of DC will
present the 8th Annual Heart to Hart Tennis Tournament and Experience.
The event will honor tennis great, Zina Garrison and feature pro-celebrity
matches and tennis clinics. Also in support of the Zina Garrison
/ Venus Williams alliance "Tie Together for Action", a
branded shoelace campaign, raising relief funds for the long term
rebuilding efforts of Hurricane Katrina, laces have been purchased
and will be worn by all youth participating in the Heart to Hart
Tournament. The laces are also available for purchase at the tournament.
The center was made possible by the Recreation Wish List Committee
(RWLC) of Washington, DC, which was founded in 1995 by Cora Masters
Barry and is committed to providing quality athletic and learning
enrichment programs for the children of the District of Columbia.
Under the leadership of its Board of Directors, the RWLC brings
together public and private resources to support the programs and
facilities of DC Departments of Parks and Recreation. The RWLC has
resurfaced deteriorated ball fields, installed computer labs, equipped
run-down playgrounds, renovated neglected recreation centers, and
have built the most prestigious state of the art Tennis and Learning
facility in the country, The Southeast Tennis and Learning Center
(SETLC) in Washington, DC. The sponsors are PNC Bank, the Washington
Tennis Association, Strings by Harry, Concerned Black Men and DC
Department of Parks and Recreation.
